End of year wrap-up

It was a busy year for DRERS. We helped many, many people. Now we would like to offer our thanks to all of the individuals, business and organisations who helped us to help others. We received donations and support from so many individuals that it would too long a list to name you all, but we want you to know how much we appreciate your help, so thank you all so much!

Many local businesses also offered their support, some have been doing this for many years now and we thank you all too, for your generous help.

We also thank the local churches for their donations, the generosity of the congregations is amazing, it leaves us quite overwhelmed by the support they give.

Also, we welcome and thank Laura Smyth MP, James Merlino MP and Cr Samantha Dunn for their assistance and support.

The biggest thank you goes to the DRERS volunteers who keep giving their time and energy to keep helping people throughout the year. They do a fantastic job!

Thank you to each and every one who helps us!

Christmas In The Hills

2 tables of gifts

On Saturday 15th December 2012 we held our annual Christmas In The Hills for our clients, who were able to select a couple of gifts and also receive a Christmas hamper. Many thanks to Upwey Anglican (Holy Trinity) Church for providing the venue, coffee, tea, cakes and a lovely atmosphere (including music from a flute).

Thanks also to Sue and all of the DRERS hard-working volunteers who put in lots of hard work all year and especially on the day.

Our new ute!

After a year and a half of fundraising DRERS is now the proud owner of a new vehicle. We have a 2008 Toyota Hilux! It is already proving itself to be a fantastic asset to our little organisation and we simply love it. It is so handy for Foodbank pickups and our outreach service. Our biggest thanks go to all who helped us to raise the funds for this ute, but especially to Tecoma Uniting Church.  So….. THANK YOU to:

Colin and Lyn Taylor, Samantha Dunn, all of the DRERS volunteers, Peter Pieklo, Bendigo Bank, Theresa, Belgrave Community Op Shop, Tecoma Uniting Church/The Treasure Shop, No. 4 Masonic Past Masters Group
